Executive Director – Lori Berkeley comes to Cascades of Grass Valley with great experience having worked as an Assisted Living Director for that last 5 years and a Nursing Home Administrator for 2 years. She also has a background in physical therapy and teaching fitness at a community college, prompting her to implement a Balance Class to help prevent resident falls. She loves the outdoors, cycling and hiking with her dog Bella. Bella loves to visit the residents at the Community. She has great energy and loves teaching and mentoring the staff.
Community Relations Director – Susan has lived in the community of Grass Valley for over 40 years and has over 30 years of customer service experience. She has a passion for working with seniors and it shows with the way she immediately connects with our residents. Susan has 4 wonderful children and 3 grandchildren. She enjoys playing tennis and camping with her family. We are grateful she chose to be part of the Cascades family!
Wellness Director – Pepsi brings to Cascades of Grass Valley excellent experience as an RCFE Administrator and LVN. She is compassionate in her work and has an amazing love for our residents and staff. Her laugh is infectious! When not caring for our residents and their families, Pepsi enjoys spending time with her 2 boys keeping active and outdoors. She is a bright spot in our day and all who meet her love her!
Plant Operations Director – David Waddell, MMCM (SS) Ret. joins Cascades of Grass Valley with over 12 years’ experience working in Assisted Living as a Maintenance Director. He retired from the Navy as the Chief of the boat and Senior Enlisted engineer USSHADD SSN604 with Presidential Meritorious Service Medal. In his spare time, David volunteers with the local police. He also manages several acres on his home ranch with his lovely wife. They have a beautiful garden and many farm animals, including chickens and horses. David feels it has always been a joy and pleasure to facilitate the comfort and safety of those who through hard work and perseverance have earned it. He helped take care of his father in his slow decline, and wants for others what he wanted for him.
Dining Services Director – She has many years of experience in the food service industry. She went to school and received her AA degree in Food Service. After college she worked in many senior living facilities. She has been at cascades for a few months now and loves the atmosphere and being able to please the residents with all of their dietary needs. She enjoys cooking very much and her hobby has a child turned into her career. She loves working around seniors and feels she is at home at Cascades. Her other hobbies include spending time with her kids and taking care of herself by taking dance classes and weight training. Gina is available for any of your dietary needs and would love to talk to you at anytime
Business Office Manager – Emileigh Blevins brings many years of managerial experience to her position of Business Office Manager at Cascades of Grass Valley. She was born and raised in Yuba City and moved to Grass Valley in 2015. Emileigh has spent the last 5 years volunteering at a Duo-Diagnosed Developmentally Disabled Adult Facility in Yuba City, and has a tremendous amount of passion for her field of work. In her off time, Emileigh enjoys most outdoor activities, including: kayaking, hiking, fishing, and target practice. Life Enrichment Director – Kimm Slaton comes to us from Reno Nevada, where she was a successful business owner for over 14 years and a manager of one of the largest Casino Entertainment departments in Reno Nevada. Kimm has 3 beautiful children and loves the outdoors. Some of her favorite outdoor activities are: motorcycle riding, wakeboarding, hiking and camping. She comes to Cascades of Grass Valley with a positive attitude and a great smile on her face. Kimm has a great passion for physical fitness and was also a personal trainer for several years. Her knowledge and experience in the health and wellness field, allows her to improve the lives of the residents at Cascades of Grass Valley with the wide array of exercise classes offered.
